Hollywood career Last year’s recipient was British star Noel Clarke – who played Mickey in Doctor Who and won critical acclaim for writing and starring in the films Kidulthood and Adulthood, the latter of which he also directed. Stewart plays Robert Pattinson’s on screen love interest in the vampire movies, which have proved to be huge box office hits.Dev Patel starred in the same series and went on to play the lead role in last year’s Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. “When as found out I’d been nominated for this, it was a great honour,” Hoult told the Victoria Derbyshire show in BBC 5 live. Hoult, who starred as a child in Hugh Grant’s 2002 romantic comedy About A Boy, also played Tony Stonem in Skins. “We couldn’t believe that I’d been put in a category with great actors and, looking at the people who have won this award and been nominated beforehand, it’s quite scary to think that people think I might do as well as them.” When asked whether he felt like a “rising star”, the actor said: “No, I feel like a working actor to be honest. “But to be put up for an award that the public will vote for is very exciting.” Past winners of the award include Bond actress Eva Green and James McAvoy, both of whom have embarked upon a Hollywood career. The winner of this year’s award will be announced at the Bafta film awards in London on 21 February. Source: BBC UK RELATED POSTS:
