Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s “Eclipse” trailer has arrived, and with it only more anticipation about the film, which doesn’t arrive in theaters until the end of June. With another three months to go until then, we know you’ll be poring over the footage again and again. Here are answers to five questions you might have after that first viewing.
What’s Up With Kristen’s Hair? The first thing you might be wondering is why Kristen Stewart’s hair looks a bit strange. The reason is that after finishing work on “New Moon” in May, Stewart chopped off her locks for her role as ’70s rocker Joan Jett in “The Runaways.” Shooting on that biopic wrapped last August, just weeks before the start of “Eclipse.” To maintain continuity with Bella Swan’s appearance in “New Moon,” Stewart was forced to don the wig you see her wearing in the “Eclipse” trailer. Some might say the do looks oddly similar to the wig Taylor Lautner had to wear in “Twilight.”
What Happened To Victoria? Just over a minute into the trailer, we get a glimpse of the film’s central villain: Victoria. But that’s not the Victoria we know from “Twilight” and “New Moon.” That’s because last July, only weeks before “Eclipse” was due to begin filming, Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachelle Lefevre in the role she’d played for two movies. “I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’ ” the actress said in a statement. • Read full story…
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning star as Joan Jett and Cherie Currie in “The Runaways,” the music-fueled, coming of age story of the groundbreaking, all girl 1970s rock band written and directed by Floria Sigismondi.
When two teenage valley girls with punk in their blood meet, they become the heart and soul of the seminal all girl band, The Runaways — a group of extraordinary young women who rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary band that paved the way for future generations of girl musicians. • Read full story…
It was a long time coming, but Kristen Stewart finally looked comfortable on a talk show. She stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night to promote The Runaways and to show off her legs. Her awkwardness was dialed down to the point that it was completely endearing (as opposed to slightly painful) and her self-deprecation was pitch-perfect as she a) revealed why she was able to laugh at having to clear her throat while presenting the horror montage at the Oscars (“This is gonna baffle some people, but I was so proud of myself that night. I was like Whoa, I didn’t, like, fall down or anything,” she said, flashing two thumbs up when the audience applauded her) and b) explained what her Panic Room costar Jodie Foster told her at an after-party. “She’s like, ‘You know, you could learn a thing or two from me. I think that we should maybe start hanging out.’ I was like, ‘Really?‘,“ Stewart said, feigning disbelief. “I think I probably could.” • Read full story…
Kristen Stewart has totally arrived: she braved her first ever interview with Jay Leno last night, appearing on The Tonight Show to promote the soon-to-be-released “The Runaways”. Walking out in a short black minidress and leopard Christian Louboutin heels to the hard guitar strains of music from the movie, the girl made famous by the “Twilight Saga” looked a little bit nervous as she took her seat.
Jay’s big, squeaky personality could have overrun Kristen’s more reserved interview style, but the star held her own while Jay asked her about her recent trip to England and launched into a story about a confusing attempt to order pancakes at a London restaurant. So, what’d she think of the food across the pond? • Read full story…
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning share a smooch in their new rock ‘n’ roll movie, “The Runaways,” but Kristen said one thing got in the way – the law.
“She was 15, and I wasn’t allowed to grope her,” Kristen, 19, told Access Hollywood on Wednesday at the press junket for her new rocker film. “I’m actually not kidding, there are major restrictions that I don’t remember [from] when I was younger.
“I don’t want to give anything way. It’s a really passionate, hardcore scene,” she continued. “No, it’s just a kiss. It’s not really a big deal.”
“It’s just something that happened in their lives,” Dakota told Access of the kissing scene. “In the script, it’s not like a big build up or something that they talk about afterwards.”
The two play teenage members of ‘70s all-girl rock act The Runaways, starring as the iconic Joan Jett (Kristen) and Cherie Currie (Dakota).
“It looks great in the movie, but we are not close to the musicians that they are,” Kristen said.
But the two loved looking like rock stars – and plan to share their outfits with the women who inspired the film.
“I loved the outfits, I kept most all of them,” Dakota said. “Cherie gave her corsets away and we had them remade for the movie, [so] I’m going to give her one and I think that will be really cool.”
“I gave Joan a leather jacket,” Kristen said. “I wrote all over the back of it.”
I have uploaded new screen captures, fan photos & stills of Kristen Stewart on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on March 10, 2010 to promote ‘The Runaways‘.
