Apparition and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group have finalized their acquisition of Kristen Stewart-James Gandolfini starrer “Welcome to the Rileys,” which bowed at Sundance.

A seven-figure deal for North American rights closed Friday.

Jake Scott-helmed drama was produced by Scott’s father Ridley and uncle Tony’s shingle Scott Free, and the pic was penned by Ken Hixon.

Story revolves around a couple, played by Gandolfini and Leo, whose marriage is on the rocks when the husband meets a young prostitute, played by Leo, on a business trip to New Orleans. He extends his stay to help her, as his wife finds a way back to him. • Read full story…

One should always be a little wary of a film that was shot three years before its release date. Sure, some movies merely take awhile to get through the production pipeline but when it’s an independent drama like The Yellow Handkerchief, it probably means something is wrong. This character piece features three interesting performances but they’re all fighting against a screenplay that values cliché over believability and a director who can’t find the right rhythm or tone for the piece. What’s most jarring about The Yellow Handkerchief is that it never feels like anything but a movie with its characters who constantly say what they’re feeling and doing and it never once feels genuine or organic. Stars William Hurt and, to a lesser but still notable extent, Kristen Stewart elevate this material well above what it was on the page and the cinematography of a post-Katrina Louisiana by the always-great Chris Menges (The Reader, The Mission) is remarkably good, but The Yellow Handkerchief never comes together. • Read full story…

TeenHollywood: And you were on the set to help her out?
Joan: The main reason I was there was for me to be a resource for Kristen, and to be a tool for her completely. I would not have been around if she didn’t want me there. She said, ‘I want you there as much as you can be,’ so I was there, and I was not going to leave. So I had a monitor, I had earphones, and I stayed out of her eye line and I tried to stay out of the director’s way so it wasn’t like any kind of competition, but I wanted Kristen to know I’m around. I could hear her so she knew that if she needed me, she should say, ‘Joan, come over,’ and I could hear her.

So I’d get out of the way and find a little spot and just watch everything and when Kristen has questions, it could have been about anything, about the way I said something, or maybe she didn’t have any questions, and we’d just kind of talk about a scene, I was just really there to be a support for her, even if she didn’t always need me. • Read full story…

Kristen Stewart, Scout Taylor-Compton and Stella Maeve had so much fun playing ’80s punk rockers The Runaways in their new biopic, they don’t want their rock-star lifestyle to end. Stella spoke with HollywoodLife.com on March 11 at the Los Angeles premiere of The Runaways, and she told us she wants to start a band with the girls! “Me, Scout and Kristen really need to start one,” she said enthusiastically. “Me and Kristen talk about it, but with everyone’s schedules it is really hard to actually do it.”

And while the band may seem like just a day dream, Stella has everyone’s roles already picked out! “I would be the drummer and Kristen would be on the guitar,” she told us. “Scout would play the drums too, so we’ll have to work that out. In Welcome to the Rileys is a stripper and a prostitute with a language to make a trucker blush. And then in K-11, where he plays the role of a transsexual named Butterfly. Lean, timid, in a simple black gown by Hervé Leroux and shoes with heels by Christian Dior, Kristen arrives making it clear that until five minutes before he was in jeans and t-shirt.

Kristen, as she lives the fame? What do you feel? Flattery, fear, confusion?
“When you become a public figure must meet certain expectations. I wish people would concentrate more on my work but I understand your curiosity about the private life I know that I see as a cool guy. ”

And instead?
“They confuse my desire to maintain privacy with my being cold. Curious, because, if it is a man, is a strong man, if he makes a woman is angry. The Runaways star Kristen Stewart says she would love to host Saturday Night Live.

The 19-year-old admitted she’d like a turn at hosting the show, but would find it ‘really, really scary’.

She told E! Online: ‘They haven’t asked me to do it. I would love to say yes for sure, but that is really, really scary.

‘I am so critical of myself and then also of people who are on the show. It’s like, ‘Nope, you’re not funny – next’!’

Her Twilight co-star, Taylor Lautner, has already hosted the show but her other co-star Robert Pattinson is yet to take a turn.

Kristen Stewart says she doesn’t get starstruck very often, but at this year’s Oscars she was left speechless not once, but twice.

So who got Ms. Stewart flustered? First up, an Academy Award winner…

“Kate Winslet,” Stewart says when I ask who she was most excited to meet on the big night. “She’s one of my favorite actresses. I’ve seen her around at things but I never met her.”

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning new The Runaways biopic has brought the real-life characters they play back together – former bandmates Joan Jett and Cherie Currie plan to work on new material.

Currie and Jett returned to the studio to rework classic songs for the film’s soundtrack – and they discovered they still enjoy playing together, so there’s more to come.
